How to link words together

Today in class, I introduced the use of linking to my students.  Linking involves the “joining” of two words in pronunciation.  For example, in English, you normally don’t say “back off” with a brief pause between the first word “back” and the second word “off” – rather you normally say “ba ckoff”.  That is a /k/ sound is normally pronounced at the beginning of the syllable for “off”.
